This is a hand carved, faithful reproduction of the
15th century Savonarola chair. It is sturdy and beautiful, offering
comfortable seating and historical authenticity.
It has the ability to fold as did the original, which was designed to be a
portable chair of high office.
The details are hand carved from solid oak with chisel and wooden mallet,
just like the original. The chair is named after the Florence, Italy monk,
Girolamo Savonarola (1452–1498).
Please do not confuse this piece with cheaper pieces made off-shore with
tropical woods.
