The decoration on the friezes and the turning on the posts are consistent with 17th century work. In that era, the stool was the principal seating for the long tables where meals were served. Pegs were added into the joints for added strength. This reproduction,
which is carefully crafted from oak, shows wear on the stretchers and is modestly distressed. Finished with stain and hand rubbed poly-urethane.
